Hydrogen production from water electrolysis is a convenient method. In the electrolyzer filled with potassium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide into the direct current, water molecules in the electrode electrochemical reaction, decomposition into hydrogen and oxygen. The chemical reaction formula is as follows: cathode: 2H2O 2e H2 ↑ 2OH-anode: 2OH-2e H2O 1/2O2 ↑ total reaction formula: 2H2O = 2H2 ↑ O2 ↑ according to Faraday's law, the gas yield is proportional to the current and has nothing to do with other factors.

The role of potassium hydroxide is to increase the conductivity of water, itself does not participate in the electrolytic reaction, in theory, is not consumed. The effect of adding alum pentoxide to the electrolyte is to reduce the electrolysis voltage. The power consumption per unit of gas production depends on the electrolysis voltage. The higher the working temperature of the electrolytic cell, the lower the electrolysis voltage, and the corrosion of the electrolytic cell material, mainly the diaphragm material, is also increased.
The long-term use temperature of asbestos in the lye cannot exceed 100 ℃, so the operating temperature is 80~85 ℃. The selection of the electrolysis pressure is mainly based on the need for hydrogen. The purity of the gas is determined by the structure and operation of the hydrogen generator. Under the condition that the equipment is intact (mainly the electrolytic cell diaphragm is not damaged) and the operating pressure is normal (mainly the differential pressure control is normal), the purity is stable.
Industrial soft water through the pure water device to produce pure water, and into the raw water tank, through the make-up pump input lye system, supplement the water consumed by electrolysis. The water in the electrolytic cell is decomposed into H2 and O2 under the action of direct current, and enters the hydrogen and oxygen separation scrubber in the frame together with the circulating electrolyte for gas-liquid separation, washing and cooling.
