Hydrogen refueling stations are gas stations that provide hydrogen to fuel cell vehicles. The earliest hydrogen refueling stations may be traced back to the hydrogen refueling station in Los Alamos in the United States in the 1980 s. As the infrastructure for supplying hydrogen to fuel cell vehicles, the number of hydrogen stations is also growing.

Various demonstration activities have been carried out all over the world, and the construction and demonstration operation of these hydrogen refueling stations have accumulated a lot of data and experience for the future. The earliest hydrogen refueling station may be traced back to the 1980 s station at Los Alamos, which was built by the Alamos National Laboratory to verify the feasibility of liquid hydrogen as a fuel.
Since then, more and more hydrogen refueling stations have been gradually built. According to FuelCell Today statistics, as of 2006, more than 140 hydrogen refueling stations have been built worldwide. The number of new hydrogen refueling stations in North America is in the world. The proportion increases and the development is more rapid.
At the same time, in addition to Germany, other European regions have also accelerated the pace of research and construction of hydrogen energy infrastructure. There are more than 40 hydrogen refueling stations under planning in the United States, accounting for the vast majority. Norway, Italy and Canada also have 5-7 hydrogen refueling stations under planning. It can be predicted that the hydrogen energy development of these countries will also speed up in the future.
