The hydrogen generator is a self-regulating hydrogen generator for hydrogen fuel cells, which is composed of a fuel tank, a catalyst and an opening part. The hydrogen generator is composed of electrolytic cell, pure water tank, hydrogen/water separator, collector, dryer, sensor, pressure regulating valve, switching power supply and other components. Hydrogen can be produced by electrolysis of pure water alone.

After electrification, the cathode of the electrolytic cell produces hydrogen, the anode produces oxygen, and the hydrogen enters the hydrogen/water separator. Oxygen is vented into the atmosphere. The hydrogen/water separator separates hydrogen from water. After hydrogen enters the dryer for dehumidification, it is adjusted to the rated pressure (0.02 ~ 0.45Mpa adjustable) by the pressure stabilizing valve and regulating valve and output from the outlet.

The hydrogen production pressure of the electrolytic cell is controlled by the sensor at about 0.45Mpa. When the pressure reaches the set value, the power supply of the electrolytic cell is cut off; When the pressure drops, the power supply is restored when the pressure is lower than the set value. The apparatus comprises the following components: a fuel tank having a nominal volume and a definable internal space, the fuel tank being provided with a hydrogen gas discharge port communicating with the internal space.

A catalyst containing a hydrogen storage material and stored in a fuel tank, wherein the catalyst is filled in a catalytic reactor, the reactor is provided with a closing portion for blocking contact between the catalyst and a fuel liquid, and an opening portion for contact with the fuel liquid, so that whether to generate hydrogen gas or stop hydrogen gas generation can be actively adjusted according to the rise and fall of the pressure in the fuel tank.
